Adrian Utley is most widely known for his work as a member of Portishead.
Currently working with Gillian Wearing (CBE) - composing the music for her BBC Arena programme on the writer George Eliot - this will be screened oN BBC4 later this year.
An earlier collaborative project for Adrian & Will was a soundtrack for silent film classic The Passion of Joan of Arc, played by a 23 piece orchestra conducted by Charles Hazlewood and performed at concert halls like New York’s Lincoln Centre, London’s Shakespeare’s Globe, Wells Cathedral, Latitude and All Tomorrows Parties Festivals. Criterion released the soundtrack with the restored film in 2018.
Alongside work on commissions for an electric guitar orchestra and film scores, the past few years have been filled with production work - Perfume Genius, Algiers, Francoiz Breut, Marry Waterson and Three Kane Whale.
Earlier film work includes Sound by Nic Roeg, Spiders from Mars with David Attenborough and Becoming Cary Grant directed by Mark Kidel.
