As the son of a concert pianist, Tim trained classically at the piano & violin, going on to study classical composition at university. During this period he also developed an insatiable curiosity and love of music technology and synthesisers, which still grows to this day.
This led him into a career, still ongoing, as a session keyboard player, playing all over the world with artists including Neneh Cherry, Boy George, Candi Staton & Midge Ure. He has had numerous TV appearances , performing with Lady Gaga on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, and with Pixie Lott on The Graham Norton Show.
Since working as a composer for TV and Film, Tim has accumulated a wide range of credits. For the BBC, landmark documentaries such as ‘Jungle Atlantis’ and several episodes of the acclaimed series ‘Horizon’. Feature documentaries include notably Focus Feature’s ‘I Am Ali’, as well as numerous high profile promos and trailers including Downton Abbey, Transformers, Sky Movies & Barclays. He was a winner in the 2017 Promax awards, a nominee in the prestigious 2018 Music & Sound Awards, and his piece ‘First Dawn’ was featured in the official 2018 Oscar nominations broadcast. His orchestral work has seen him write for orchestral ensembles across Europe, including in the UK, the legendary Abbey Road and Air Lyndhurst studios.
Tim continues to work from his studio in Hertfordshire, crammed full of vintage analog synths and other keyboard curiosities. It is the combination of his classical training and these years as a pop session musician that have given him his broad, yet unique and emotive command in his work
